Small black agate gemstone bead earrings with wire work silver setting. The banded gemstones are set and accented with carefully placed swirls of sterling silver wire. The earrings are hung on sterling silver earwires and packaged in a hand-stamped gift box. These tasteful earrings are a perfect choice for the woman who is inspired by the creations of nature.
Each piece is made-to-order, and the photos shown are examples of the piece you will receive. Your jewelry will be made with the same wire work technique and same size and quality of stone. There will be natural variation in the colors and patterns of the stones, as well as variation due to the handmade nature, ensuring that your jewelry is truly unique! Agate comes in a white range of colors and varieties, and is found in Brazil, India, Mexico and the US. The hardness and durability of the stone is said to bring stability into your life. Agate which is composed of very tiny crystals of silica, the same substance which forms quartz crystals, precious opal, and comprises much of our coastal sands. Agates form in nodules, holes in other rocks, when the host stone becomes flooded with silica rich ground water. Slowly the silica crystallizes out of the solution, leaving an agate. The lovely bands are due to small amounts of other minerals and elements, and differences in the size of the crystals. These earrings are an elegant example of the sheer beauty of the processes of nature.

EAR WIRES: These earrings are hung on sterling silver ear wires, which are generally non-irritating. If you are allergic to silver just send me a message and I can change your ear wires to titanium wires, which are slightly darker but hypoallergenic.

CLEANING: Silver will naturally darken, or tarnish, due to reactions with sulfides in the air. Agate is a hard durable stone, so it can be cleaned in a solution formulated to clean metals and nonporous gemstones, such as Hagerty Jewel Clean to keep your silver bright. Any dirt and debris can be easily removed with a gentle toothbrush and warm soapy water.
