Small Banded Black Agate Necklace
A small back agate gemstone necklace. The striated gemstone bead is strung and accented tasteful swirls and spirals of sterling silver wire work. The pendant is hung on a silver plated chain and packaged in a lovely gift box. This dark and mysterious necklace is a lovely choice for the woman who is inspired by the unique patterns of nature.

Agate comes in a white range of colors and varieties, and is found in Brazil, India, Mexico and the US. The hardness and durability of the stone is said to bring stability into your life. Agate which is composed of very tiny crystals of silica, the same substance which forms quartz crystals, precious opal, and comprises much of our coastal sands. Agates form in nodules, holes in other rocks, when the host stone becomes flooded with silica rich ground water. Slowly the silica crystallizes out of the solution, leaving an agate.
CHAIN: The pendant is photographed on a silver-plated copper snake chain, available in lengths of 16 or 20 inches.The silver plating on the chain will eventually wear off, but its a great affordable option. SIZE: The pendant is approximately 1 1/4" x 5/8".

CLEANING: Silver will naturally darken, or tarnish, due to reactions with sulfides in the air. Any dirt and debris can be easily removed with a gentle toothbrush and warm soapy water.
