A custom pendant featuring a large carnelian gemstone bead. The bright stone bead is strung and accented with elegant swirls and spirals of sterling silver wire. The pendant is hung on a silver-plated copper chain and packaged in a custom gift box. Carnelian is the light to dark red variety of the mineral chalcedony, which is generally colorless or light blue in its pure form. The red-orange color of carnelian is due to impurities, or micro-amounts of the element iron in its chemical structure.
